Show Citizen Retry . . . On Land Use Bill Hello! Citi-cen Citi-cen Reay here. It seems that defeating a Land Use Law by Referendum Ref-erendum two years ago is not good enough for i some people. : r .f .... ' of the State of Utah had rejected Land Use Planning when it infringed the rights of private property owners. It would appear as if Land Use Planning is coming back to us piecemeal. It shows up in the new revised 1976 zoning ordinance ordinan-ce and development regulation for Utah County. One of these regulations, pertaining to Land use, "Acreages for Homesites" would raise the present reauirements of 20 acres per It would appear mat uui y. ounty commission and county coun-ty planning board did not quite understand. The people homesitge to 50 acres on most privately owned property proper-ty in Utah County. In the agricultural zone an owner could be required to have 8,000 acres to qualify for a single dwelling (4-3)50). This is only one of the many new regulations in the revised zoning ordinance for Utah County. In my opinion private property rights guaranteed by the constitution are being infringed and should not be tolerated. Currently there is a petition being circulated requesting 6 months time for further study and revision. For getting get-ting more information to the citizens of utah County and for more citizen input into the zoning ordinance. A table will be at the ' Pleasant Grove City Hall where all interested citizens can sign the petition on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Satur-day. Let us all take an interest in-terest in our county government gover-nment and becomer involved. Our freedom depends upon it. "Freedom is not Free." I am a candidate for the House of Representatives, Dist. 34. As a legislator I will be constantly opposed to any regulation or law that will infringe in-fringe our constitutional right to own and control private property. I thank you for your support in November. PAID POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENT |
