Girls were selected by FFA boys to run for honor. FFA Selects Girls for Balloting, Announcement of Winners at Dance Three girls from each class have been selected by the FFA boys to be candidates for the FFA Royalty. Representing the senior class is Sharlene West, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K.D. West; Pam Newman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Newman; Anne Carroll, daughter of Mrs. Marguerite Carroll. From the junior class is Lisa Reedy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Sorenson; Annette Haynie, daughter of Mayor and Mrs. Cornell Haynie. Representing the sophomore class is Val Madsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.K. Madsen, Annette Ackerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Ackerman; and Vikie Warner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dotty Warner. Hal Anderson, president of FFA noted that each girl will be selling raffle tickets on a gun, 22 rifle, for 25 cents a ticket; baking a cake from scratch; milking a goat or cow; participating in a chicken chase, and a sawdust scramble. Points will be given on each of these events, plus Friday night at the Harvest Ho-Down the studentbody will vote for their preference. The queen and her attendants will be announced at the dance. Thursday, the Viking studentbody will be able to see the movie "The Fall of the House of Ushers." Cost to the students will be $1 and sponsored by the PTA, FFA, and GAA. The dance will start at 8:00 and the cost is $1 per person. |
