Show Civil Air Patrol Has 35fh Birthday Celebration Civil Air Patrol celebrated its 35th anniversary on 1 December 1976. The Utah Wing held its annual Conference Con-ference in conjuntion with this on 4 December 1976. The UtahWing scored three finds of downed aircraft in 1976. The Members of the Utah Mountian Region donated 2,881 mandays in search valued at $5 per hour. Civil Air Patrol was founded foun-ded by a group of light aviation enthusiasts and private pilots as a means of donating their time and aircraft air-craft for the nation's civilian defense efforts. Today the Patrol continues to perform many mercy missions; everything from transporting blood to airlifting critically ill persons to hospitals; to searching sear-ching for downed aircraft. We invite any interested males or females over the age of 13 to attend our meetings on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. at the Provo Airport. |
