Show Mary Thanks All For Kindness During Past Year by Mary West A couple of months ago I recieved a note from Eva Proctor. She stated that she enjoyed reading my articles. She commented that they were like the ones Karl Banks used to write. This pleased me so much because I thought so much of Mr. Banks. Mrs. Proctor included a poem that was in a Christmas card and said she would like to share it with me and I in turn would like to share it with you at this Christmas time. It was entitled Memories of Days Gone By. No author's name was attached. Memories of Days Gone By And I walked by that old barn Where I played when I was "just a kid" And I remembered how I sat in the sun On the sheltered side. I thought of the things we did. How we watched the springtime spring-time Come and go. And the old creek begin to run. How we played "ante over" And "hide and seek" And all the summer fun. The years are gone, . But the memories Linger still. I've not forgotten God's given delights, And I think I never will. I so appreciate your kindness kind-ness of the past year. Your .words of encouragement have meant so much. The joy of sharing thoughts with you cannot be expressed. If you have felt the spirit and mood of what I have written then you know. We who live in Pleasant Grove live in a very choice place. Those who have lived here the longest know how choice this town really is, and those who are new to the community will grow to love this Pleasant Grove. I would wish you the gift of Love for your Fellow Man at this time of year, Love for your community, and most important, learn to live with and love yourself. |
