Show Fred R. Day Is Named Chief Scout Executive Fred Richard Day, a native of Aurora, Sevier County, has been named chief executive of the Utah Nlional Harks Council, Hoy Scouts of America. Mr. Day will succeed Floyd Loveridge, who has retired alter Z years in that position. The announcement of Mr. Day's appointment was made recently at the annual council meeting which also saw the election ol Dr. DaCosta Clark of Provb, to another term as council president. Mr. Day is currently chief executive of Grand Canyon Council, with headquarters in Flagstaff, Arizona. He is expected ex-pected to to assume his new duties at the Provo headquarters office as of Nov. I. Mr. Day comes to the chief executive post in this area with a long line of statistics signifying his responsibility and leadership in scouting. He has been an active participant in all regional and national events involving scout executives, and has attended numerous professional training programs and conferences. con-ferences. He is an active member of the LDS Church. He and his wife are the parents of six sons, five of whom are living. Mrs. Day's father William Grant Mc-Farland, Mc-Farland, Salt Lake City, was formerly a professional scouter. |
