Show Social Services Dept. Pushes Food Stamps It is the responsibility of the Department of Social Services to provide general information on the Food Stamp Program to every citizen in the .State of Utah. Recently, throughout the entire state, the Food Stamp Outreach has expanded through the placement of a Project Area Food Stamp Coordinator in each district office. Awareness of the Food Stamp Program has greatly increased through the efforts, interest, and cooperation of many organizations and agencies, and the news media It is hopeful that the State Food Stamp Outreach can strengthen its relationship with other existing private and community agencies and organizations and individuals to assist in the State Outreach Plan. The services available through these organizations agencies, and individuals would be more than appreciated ap-preciated as the concern for the health, education, and welfare of low-income households is recognized. Outreach activities will increase, in-crease, knowledge of the benefits of the Food Stamp Program and encouragement to participate will reach those citizens in need. It is important that all eligible households are aware of the Food Stamp Program, particularly since unemployment and inflation continue to rise. |
