Ceremonies included a program, with several numbers. Lindon PTA Gives 3 Flags to School colors and the school sang "You're a Grand Old Flag," As "Old Glory" was raised, a breeze came up, majestically unfurling the new banner in a most fitting and breathtaking manner, filling the hearts of those present with deep appreciation ap-preciation and love for their country and all that it stands for. Principal Herbert Gilbert said, "How grateful we are to the PTA for their gift and how blessed we are to live in the 'Land of the free.' " Lindon Elementary School students and parents enjoyed a very special program last Thursday. The PTA Council for 1973-74 under the direction of Linda Gillman presented the school with three beautiful flags, a large Amercian flag,, 6 ft. by 10 feet for our flagpole, flag-pole, an American flag for use in the school and a large Utah flag. To express their appreciation to the PTA for the tremendous gift, each class prepaed and seang a song: Grades 1-2 sang "What's More American," 3-4, "Freedom Isn't Free," Grades 5 and 6 "Fifty Nifty United States." A special poem "The Flag Goes By" was given by' Becki Spencer, Craig Stone and Mel-vin Mel-vin Mills, P.G. High students played a trumpet duet 'To the Colors" and Kim Nielsen, Daryl' Spencer, Bryce Walker, Cameron Tolman, Robert Burr, Brent Shepherd and Dana Hen-riksen Hen-riksen posted and raised the |
