Lehi Dance Set Survives 26 Years as Active'Group It all started 26 years ago in the cozy surroundings of Rosie and Mae Smith's living room. It seems there was a group of couples who enjoyed meeting frequently for dinner parties. This particular evening they were pondering a more exciting form of entertainment. The possibility pos-sibility of a local dance organization organi-zation was mentioned and the wheels started turning. First, eight couples were asked to serve as committee members. After agreeing, these ambitious young couples obtained a copy of the by-laws from the American Ameri-can Fork dance group. They added to and took away from these by-laws until they were just exactly what was needed to organize a Lehi Dance Set. Next these committee members began the tedious chore of canvassing can-vassing the area for couples who would be interested in supporting sup-porting such an organization. They contacted every young and young at heart couple in Lehi. Soon they had filled their membership quota of 100 couples cou-ples and had a waiting list to join when there were openings. This community wholeheartedly whole-heartedly accepted the Lehi Dance Set and even now, 26 years later, this fine organization organiza-tion is still going strong, thanks to the support of local citizens. In this busy, hustle-bustle time of year, when we all seem to lose sight of the things that are really important, the Lehi Dance Set would like to say thanks for the support and wish all of you a very Merry Christmas Christ-mas and the Happiest of New Years. The Christmas horn that thrills the child, Usually drives the parens wild. When housework gets ahead of me and vacuuming's a must, My husband leaves me, here and there, love letters in the dust. |
