PAUL HAYCOCK to practice in Mesa Paul W. Haycock Gets Certificate In Periodontology A former Pleasant Grove resident, Dr. Paul W. Hay-cock, was recently presented with a certificate in Periodon-tology at the University of Oregon Dental School in Port-land, Oregon. This certificate represents 21 months of residency training in the dental specialty concerned with diagnosing, preventing and treating diseases of the supporting tissues of the teeth. Dr. Haycock graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1962 where he was Student-bod- y President. He graduated as a biology major from Brigham Young University in 1967. He comple-ted dental school at Loyola University in Chicago in 1971 and then interned in general dentistry at Portland, Oregon Veterans Hostpital before he began his specialty training. Paul is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Hal Haycock of Pleas-ant Grove. He is married to the former Kathryn Profett of For-est Grove, Oregon. According to Mayor Haynie a delegation of citizens from Manila met with commission members on Friday and asked for a closing of the track. Their complaints included lack of restroom facilities, dust, crowd-ed parking on sides of road-way, and fire hazards caused by spectators who sit on the east side of the road. The mayor said he felt the mayors of the surrounding communities and the county commission were behind the project. Win-ner in the local contest will be named "Miss Farmers Insuran-ce Group of Pleasant Grove" her photograph will be enter-ed in the state contest. Photographs of each state winners will be entered in the national contest for judging of the national winner by a com-mittee of TV and Film Stars.
