The building design lends itself it-self to easy mobility of wheelchair wheel-chair children, with wide halls and doors planned for easy access ac-cess to connecting walks and ramps. The building is carpeted with textured green-blue or autumn shades of tweed carpet and drapes are o fa complementary off-white. The speech and hearing hear-ing suite is located on the south portion of the building, with teaching rooms, the pool and multi-purpose area occupying the remainder of the building. The comprehensive therapies building has been in the planning plan-ning stages during the past 5 years, said Superintendent Paul S. Sagers, who emphasized the versatility of the new facilities. Construction began in August, 1972. Better delivery of services to the handicapped will be possible possi-ble through the addition of the new building, according to the school officials. |
