Inspection is for children's safety. Bicycle Inspection Time Again for Lindon School Bicycle inspection time has rolled around again for all the kids in Lindon. It is time they make sure their bikes are safe. According to PTA officers, and the Lindon City police they can be sure their bikes are safe by checking the brakes, getting reflectors on them, ma-king sure they have a horn or a bell to indicate to anyone who is in the way that they are coming towards them, and that they should get out of the way. In Lindon the local police force is coming to the school to tell the students about bi-cycle safety, and what they can do to eliminate the bicycle ac-cidents that occur to children who do not know the bicycle safety rules. Also, while at the school, the police will inspect bicycles to check for any unsafe conditions If students can remember the safety rules, they can be more certain they will be safe while riding their bicycles. Here are some of the rules to remember: Inspect the tires, make sure there are lights on the bikes, and make sure a license is on the bicycle. Children in Lindon will have fewer accidents if they obey the bicycle safety rules and keep their bicycles in good condition. by Deanna Sorenson Timp Chapter of Music Teachers Met for November The Timpanogos Chapter of the Utah Music Teachers As-sociation held their November meeting at the home of Nelda Rawlinson in Pleasant Grove. President Joana Major con-ducted and Mrs. Rawlinson was instructor for the evening. Mrs. Rawlinson discussed teaching scales and chords, using finger-buildin-g studies, and other music theory. She displayed several teaching materials. Guest performer for the eve-ning was Neva Porter of Lehi. Neva played "Calypso" accom-panied by her teacher Lynette Morrill. Other guest performers were students of Carol Peck of Lehi. An eight-han- d number on two pianos called "More" was per-formed by Gena Whimpey, Loureen Peck and Deonne Bur-gess. Refreshments were served by Janeen Runolfson, Ann Fisher and Lynette Morrill. BRIGHT SAYING The first - grade teacher was telling her students the location of various parts of the body. Placing her hand on her chest, she said, "This is where the heart is." Little Billy put his hand on his seat and said, "Here's where my heart is." "Why do you say that?" the teacher asked. "Because," Billy replied, "lots of times Grandma pats me there and says 'Bless your little heart, Billy.'" Mrs. Yvonne Wilcox, Lan-sing, Mich.
