Eagles, Other Awards Given on Last Sunday V Presentation of two Eagle. Scout awards and a Wood Badge award were highlights of a Scout Court of Honor held last Sunday in Lindon. Recipients of the Eagle awards were Jeff Abbott, 13, ; of Lindon, and Kelly Laga, 15, CURTIS HARPER Got Eagle Badge recently of Pleasant Grove. DeMonte Hill, Lindon received the Wood Badge. Mr. Hill, District Training Leader, has attained the highest high-est achievement in Scout Leadership. Lead-ership. The Wood Badge is the final step of the Leadership , Training Course which begins with Cornerstone Training, the most basis instruction in Scout Leadership. Jeff is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Abbott, and is an eighth grade student at Pleasant Grove Junior High. Having served as Patrol leader and couselor in his Deacon's quorum. Jeff is now Senior Patrol Pat-rol leader of Troop 25 and Deacon's Dea-con's quorum president. Jeff says reading is his favorite favor-ite thing to do. Kelly is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laga and is a Sophomore Sop-homore at Pleasant Grove High School. He has served as Deacon's Dea-con's quorum president and Senior Patrol leader of Troop 168. He is now a counselor in the Teacher's quorum. His hobbies are cross country skiing and mountain climbing. In addition to the Eagle and Wood Badge awards, 220 merit badges were presented along with two life, seven Star, 11 Tenderfoot, eight Second Class, six First Class, and one Palm to boys in the Pleasant Grove Stake. Troop 167 won the Advance- ' ment Trophy. |
