Pleasant Grove High School Presents Shakespearean Play in December Production time for the Shakespearean Shake-spearean play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is rapidly approaching ap-proaching at the PI Grove High School. The delightful comedy will be produced on Dec. 7, 10, and 15 at 7:30 p.m. The play will also be present ed to English classes during the school day on Dec. 11 and 12. Tickets for adults are $1.50 and 75 cents for children and students. stu-dents. The style in which the play will be seen is known as an "arena theatre." The audience actually sits on the sage, making mak-ing a semi-circle around the actors. This allows for greater communication betwen actors and audietnce, and draws the audience deeper into the story. The set is very simple, only the curtains and a few props are used. The colorful costumes contract all the more with the simple color scheme of the set. The speech and drama teacher teach-er at the school, David Larsen, is also the director of the play. He is very excited about producing pro-ducing this Shakespearean play as is the student director, Char-lene Char-lene Ostergaard. The enthusiasm enthus-iasm of the cast should make this one of the greater performances perform-ances in the history of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove High. |
