Show 60th WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Newman celebrated 60th Wedding Anniversary last Saturday at family party Family Party Saturday Honors 60th Wedding Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Newman of Pleasant Grove celebrated their Sixtieth wedding anniversary anniver-sary Saturday at a family dinner din-ner party at. the home of their daughter, Mrs. Wayne E. Hoo-ley Hoo-ley in Orem. It was hosted by their children. A lovely book was presented to them containing contain-ing messages and pictures from their children, grandchildren and great grandchilden. The couple were married November 26, 1913 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents par-ents of seven children, Clarence J., Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Milton E. (Marval) Smith and Mrs. Wayne E. (Betty) Hooley, Orem; Mrs. Franklin C. (Le Ora) Bingham, Vallejo, Calif.; Mrs. Lucile Benich, Redding, Calif.; Mrs. Janice Farnsworth, Salinas, Calif., and Richard C. deceased. They also raised a grandaughter, Mrs. Gary (Connie) Marshall, Bellevue, Washington. The couple have 28 grandchildren and 42 great grand children. Cora Cullimore Newman was born in Lindon, Utah. Her main interests have been her home, her family and her church. She is noted for her beautiful flower flow-er garden. Clarence O. Newman was born in Pleasant Grove. He has been active in civic affairs, serving ser-ving as a city councilman, three terms as an elected city recorder, record-er, 16 years as an elected Precinct Pre-cinct Judge, and 30 years as Pleasant Grove City Judge. He also worked several years as a Deputy County Assessor. The couple have also been active in the LDS Church with temple work being very important impor-tant to them. |
