The council members felt that the city engineer should be contacted to ascertain the cost of engineering services for the proposed pro-ject. The need of having the Jun-ior Chamber of Commerce re-organized in the city was dis-cussed. The council felt that an earnest attempt should be made to get this club in Pleasant Grove. A letter was read which had been received from the local industrial promotion board in-dicating that a prospective in-dustry had be brought to Pleas-ant Grove to look at possible plant sites for the industry. The letter indicated that the pros-pect seemed interested in the property recently acquired by the busines development group. Councilman Haynie reported on the meeting he had held with the governor. He stated that the governor has proposed to adjust the present retirement program for increases in the cost of living. An explanation of what this would involve fol-lowed and the feelings of the council were that they were in agreement with the proposal. The council discussed again the possibility of constructing a swimming pool in conjunction with the new Junior High School. It was reported that the cost for such a building would be over $400,000.00. The council felt that at this time th city would not be able to get involved in the construction of a swimming pool. ' Bruce Trego, building inpsec-to- r was present to review road priorities to be presented to the Utah Valley Area Trans-portation Study committee. The recently prepared priority list for Pleasnt Grove was re-viewed and the council was in agrement with what had been presented in this study. Various other matters pertaining to building problems and policies were discussed. The minutes of the planning commision & Board of Adjust-ments were read and approved. The council approved contri-buting towards the purchase of a new loud speaking system to be used within the city depart-ments and organizations. The Chamber of Commerce have indicated that they will be buy-ing a new system and have re-quested city participation in the cost. i GROVE THEATRE Matinee Saturday at 3 p.m. Ladies Night Tuesday Show Starts each Evening at 7:15 p.m. Now Playing Starts Wednesday, December 12 A show you won't want to miss Richard Victor Michael Burton Mature Rennie THE RM A sequel to the Ten Commandments Announcing a Big . . . 4Lj!r (MISYMAS SALE RT 440 Coleman Skiroule Snowmobile 17 in Track - 440 CC Engine - 38 H.P. fan cooled, front mount Engine - Slide Rail Suspension nly plus tax and Lis.
