Show 'Nuts'Are Plentiful in Holidays, Some Even Get on Highways "All the nuts you see this Thanksgiving holiday won't be on the bountiful table at your grandmother's house," Leo H. Barlow, Utah Safety Council's, vice president for traffic commented com-mented today in discussing expected ex-pected traffic conditions during the approaching Thanksgiving holiday. "You'll run into some of the 'Highway-Cashews' on the Interstate In-terstate as . well as on the city streets," he said. "They aren't really full-time driving freaks, or nuts, but people of all ages who forget simple safe driving and car maintenance rules and get themselves and others in trouble." "Traffic volumes and accidents acci-dents have increased, but there is no need to get 'uptight' about your trip if you take a few simple steps to get ready," he said. Following are recomenda-tions recomenda-tions Barlow suggests you follow fol-low to keep free from highway trouble this holiday. Have a checkup, drive carefully care-fully and courteously, and don't have that last 'one for the road" before you drive. |
