Show National Rodeo Finals Set for Oklahoma City Denver, Colo. The best cowboys cow-boys will tangle with the best bucking stock in North America Amer-ica at the 12th annual National Finals Rodeo, the Rodeo Cowboys Cow-boys Association announced. Prize money totaling $93,000 awaits the top 15 money-winners in each event at the "world series" of rodeo, scheduled sche-duled for Dec. 5-13 in Oklahoma Okla-homa City, Okla. But to win any money the cowboys must ride the "bucikingest" horses and bulls to be found. For this year's finals, 240 outstanding baceback broncs, saddle broncs and bulls have been selected from the bucking strings of 30 rodeo stock contractors con-tractors throughout the United States and Canada. The stock is hand-picked by the Association's board of directors dir-ectors on the basis of each animal's performance at some of the 546 Association-sanctioned rodeos held during the year. Rodeo fans who attended the Pleasant Grove, Utah, rodeeo this year saw bucking stock in action owned by D. A. Kerby, Salt Lake City. Kerby had two saddle broncs, two bareback broncs and three bulls selected for final competition. |
