Holdaway Married in Elko Mr. and Mrs. Warren Perk-ins of Pleasant Grove, are an-nouncing the marriage of their daughter Irene, to Marvon H. Holdaway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvon D. Holdaway of Lindon. The ceremony was perform-ed in Elko, Nevada, on Oct. 31, 1970 by the Reverend Charles C. Lindsay, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, in Elko. The bride and groom are both graduates of Pleasant Grove High School, and are employed in Pleasant Grove, where they are residing. Gene Harveys Back from Trip to Europe Mr. and Mrs. Gene Harvey of American Fork have just re-cently returned from a trip to Europe as a result of a Chev-rolet sales contest, which the Gene Harvey Chevrolet Co. won for them. The competition pitted Chev-rolet dealers of comparable size in the western states each other, with the one getting the highest percentage of sales over their assigned ob-jective declared the winner. The Harveys spent an vacation in Portugal, Morroco and Spain. However, they took an extra week and visited Paris and England. They report a won-derful time and were able to see many points of interest dur-ing their stay. j I ; f - ' j" , . ; i s DIANE DEAN Diane Dean and Bruce Allen Hansen Plan Marriage in Salt Lake Temple Mr. and Mrs. Karl C. Dean of Salt Lake City are happy to announce the forth - coming marriage of their daughter Diane to Bruce Allen Hansen, son of Genevieve Hansen Foth-eringha-of Pleasant Grove. They will be married in the . Salt Lake Temple on Tuesday, the first day of December, 1970. A reception will be held that evening in honor of the couple at Heritage House, 4699 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Diane is a graduate of Sky-line High School. She also at-tended Brigham Young Univer-sity and is now employed in Salt Lake City. Bruce graduated from Pleas-ant Grove High School and Seminary. He is a member of the United State Airforce Re-serve and has completed a two year mission in England for the LDS Church. He attend-ed BYU and is now employed by Western Electric Company in Salt Lake City. The couple plan to reside in Salt Lake City. I i . 'A " " t ' - I 1 f ; A ! . j MISS HELEN RADMALL AND WAYNE REED PULLEY Helen Radmall and Wayne R. Pulley Will Marry in Salt Lake Temple Rites Mr. and Mrs. Vilace L. Radmall wish to announce the marriage of their daughter Helen to Wayne Reed Pulley, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Reed Pulley of American Fork. The young couple will be married in the Salt Lake Tem- - pie on Thursday, November 12th. Following the ceremony they will be honored at a wed-ding breakfast given by the groom's parents. On Friday the thirteenth of November a reception will be given in their honor in the new Timpanogos Stake Center, at 850 North first West. Receiving will be from eight until ten p.m. All friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. Helen is a graduate of Pleas-ant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. She graduated from Continental College of Beauty and is presently em-ployed in Or em. Wayne is a graduate of American Fork High School and LDS Seminary. He is a member of the Lehi National Guard unit. He has fulfilled an LDS Mission to the Gulf States Mission. He is now employed in American Fork. They plan to make their home in American Fork. Cadmus Club Hears Speaker On 'Lovelier You' Cadmus Club members held their October meeting at the home of Mrs. LeRoy Thorne on October 28th. President Glenna Oveson welcomed members in the spacious living room that was so appropriately decorated with artistically arranged cen-ters depicting the autumn season. The Education Committee consisting of Fae Belliston, Lu-cille Jense and Joyce Story dis-tributed the year's programs that were enclosed in the white and gold covers. Joyce Story read the quote by Hurley "There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving that is yourself." Joyce then introduced Sara Lee Gibb, a gracious versatile member of Brigham Young University as the club's guest speaker, whose subject was "The Art of Being a Lovelier You." Sara Lee Gibb herself a per-sonification of a "Lovelier You" ably discussed her sub-ject. She was informal yet tactful and impressive in her presentation. She involved members not only mentally but physically when she demon-strated so effectively that which can be accomplished if a person has the desire, drive and follow through technique. She made short quotes from her book "Slim Trim Fun for Life," whcih has three divisions Ideal Nutrition, Slim, Trim Fun, and Portrait of a Lady. She touched briefly on each. The time sped so fast that all agreed the book would have to be read to assimilate the many morsels that she had so effect-ively packed in one volume. Short reports were made and a questionaire was filled out by members to be returned to Lu-cille Walker. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Thorne and Daisy Nielsen and Ella Jack-son. Twenty - four members were present. Beginners Chess Class to Start Tonight at 7 p.m This Thursday evening, Nov. 5th Bliss Fullmer will conduct a beginning Chess class. Those persons desiring to learn this fascinating game are invit-ed to attend. Classes will be held in the Library of the Junior High School between the hours of 7 and 8 p.m. Those wishing to register for the class may do so this Thursday evening. Registration fee of $1.00 will be charged. Mr. Fullmer will arrange for various outside demonstrations, with a lot of practical exper-ience for each student. Jr. High School to Hold Book Fair November 9-- 13 The Pleasant Grove Junior High School will have a Book Fair November 3 between the the hours of 8 to 4 in the library. Students, parents and visitors are invited to look at the book display and place orders. The display will include in-expensive paperbacks and a few hardback books. There will be a choice of classics, fiction, biographies, adventure stories, nature, science, reference and craft books. At the close of the book fair the order will be sent at once to the Educational Reading Service to be filled. Books should arrive in three weeks at the most. These books make good birthday or Christmas gifts. Profits will be used to pur-chase additional books and sup-plies for the library. Goden Keys Hold October Meeting At Loretta Carters' The Golden Keys held their October meeting at the home of Loretta Carter. Everyone came dressed in costume. The fun began when the members traveled to the various homes to see if the youngsters could recognize any of them. A pot luck meal was served to file following members: Lillian Wadley, Jayne Smith, Carol Adamson, Leone Ruth-ledg- e, Betty Whiteley and guest Joyce Johnson. Halloween Party Held by Firemen Last Thursday The annual Fireman's Hal-loween Party was held at the station last Thursday, Oct. 29. The hall was decorated in a Halloween theme. A delicious ham dinner was served by Naomi Gray, Eberle Smith, Sandra Newman, Clara Edwards and Annette Mills. Fun games and prizes were en-joyed by members and their wives. Mrs. B. Cobbley won the prize for the best costume. Members present besides the ones mentioned above were Mr. and Mrs. Val T.
