Show Eugene Stubbs to Head Utah Feed Manufacturers Eugene Stubbs, Manila, was elected president of the Utah Feed Manufacturers and Dealers Deal-ers Association at a convention held last week at Ramada Inn in Salt Lake City. Virgil White, Salt Lake City, was elected vice president and Dr. Jay O. Anderson, Logan, was named secretary-treasurer Speaking to association members, mem-bers, Angus H. Belliston, president pres-ident of the First State Bank of Utah, Salina, said that there is sufficient agricultural credit available if Utah's ranchers and farmers are willing to pay relatively high prices for it. He added that ranching and agriculture, now moving toward to-ward extensive mechanization, are becoming more expensive and that heavy demands for credit and operation loans are being received by banks. The group also listened to Dr. Dr. Leonard U. Schruben, chairman of the department of business and economics, California Cali-fornia Western University, San Diego. Dr. Schruben said that high transportation rates often cost more than preparation of feeds by feed manufacturers. H. Kent Fowles, Utah State Chemist, described the Utah Department of Agriculture inspections in-spections of medicated feed plants, and said that testing by the state chemist's office can be of service to the feed manufacturer manu-facturer as well as the fanner. The two-day convention ended end-ed last Thursday night. |
