Connie Williamson Wins Hair Styling Division at Annual Parade of Affiliates Connie Williamson, American Fork beautician and cosmetologist, cosmetol-ogist, took top honors at the annual Parade of Affiliates, which was held as a feature of National Beauty Salon Week at the Prudential Plaza in Salt Lake City. The convention was held throughout the day Sunday, Sun-day, with Connie competing in the hair styling division. Mrs. Paul Murdock served as her model. "Crown Your Beauty with a New Hair Style" themed the educational show, which was a kickoff for National Beauty Salon Week, for beauticians and cosmetologists throughout the state. Judging at the show was 60 per cent for trend, 20 per cent for workmanship and 20 per cent for adaptability. Mrs. Williamson represented Affiliate No. 1, North Utah County in the state show and accumulated points toward the Cosmetologist of the Year Award with her styling win. The National Beauty Salon Week will continue tonight (Thursday) with a gala Hawaiian Ha-waiian Luau to be held at the Orem High School. Affiliate 1 will host the Hawaiian Luau, and new spring hair styles will be featured. Tickets may be purchased at the door or from any member beautician. |
