Show Elysium Club Has Democrat as Speaker Recntly Mrs. Norma Thomas, State Vice Chairman of the Democratic Demo-cratic Party presented the program pro-gram at the meeting of the Elysium Ely-sium Club Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Howard (Jeanne) Walker. Mrs. Thomas related the highlights of her trip to Chicago Chi-cago where she attended the Democratic National Convention. Conven-tion. Her choicest experience was that of being chosen to escort es-cort former Vice President Hubert Humphrey to the podium pod-ium after his nomination. Mrs. Thomas also commented on the young people from Chicago that were assigned to the Utah delegation. She said, they were some of the most courteous young people she had ever met and that she would never forget them. After Mrs. Thomas had finished, fin-ished, Beulah Whiting introduced introdu-ced Carolyn Bezzant, Linda Wells and Patsy Young. These girls represented Pleasant Grove at Girls State. Each girl gave a brief and interesting talk on her experiences at Logan Lo-gan and the three of them sang some of the Girls State songs. Hostess for the evening was Euth Christiansen, who served a lovely tray luncheon with Valentine theme to the twenty-five twenty-five members and guests. |
