Show THURSDAY, DECEMBER 26, 1968 THURSDAY, DECEMBER 26, 1968 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH Grove Ward Edges Fourth in Feature Game in M Men Loop Grove Ward edged Fourth Ward 56-5- 4 in the second ov-ertime in a spectacular game last week. Fans were as ex-cited as the ball players. Paul Schoonover led Grove with 25 points and Russell Johnson had 22 for Fourth. Upset minded Lindon gave Sixth Ward a good scare be-fore losing 61-5- Wayne once again led Lin-don as he scored .30 points. He boosted his average to an ev-en 20 points a game to lead the league. Wayne Miller scored 17 to lead the Sixth Ward team. Seventh Ward continued to improve as they outscored the Fifth Warders 44 to 27. Other scores were Third over Lind-on 76-4- Second over Lindon Second, 65-3- 9 and Manila ov-er First, 67-3- This Week's Schedule Thursday, Dec. 26: Sixth vs. Fourth; Seventh vs. Third, and First vs. Lindon. Merry Christmas1 5 i ALLRED BUILDERS SUPPLY I ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS The annual 'Christmas Sing' was held Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Central with all grades par-ticipating. The individual classroom teachers directed their groups and Richard Harper, speech therapist, ser-ved as general chairman. The presentation at 10 a.m. was for parents and the one Mrs. Clara Dodge, a BYU educational major from Or-e-is teacher-trainin- g at the Grovecrest in the kindergar-ten. ESN - All elemenary schools clos-ed for the Christmas recess after school, Friday, Dec. 20. They will reopen at the usual time Thursday, Jan. 2, 1968. The Christmas party for the Grovecrest employed person-nel, was held at 7 a.m. Fri-day, Dec. 20. Yuletide songs and stories were enjoyed the Christmas tree in the foyer. Diane Frandsen was chairman of arrange-ments. ESN at 2 p.m. was for all of the children. ESN Santa Claus with his bag of Christmas treats arrived at Central on Thursday, Dec. 19. Sponsors of the event were the Central PTA and the lo-cal Jaycees. ESN The children at Lindon School presented Christmas programs for their parents and friends, Friday, Dec. 20. Kindergarten, First, Second, Third and Fourth grades en-tertained at 10 a.m. Fifth and Sixth grades entertained at 1:25 p.m. First grade students remained at school Friday un-til 2:20 p.m. ESN It's "Toy Day" at Grove-crest Thursday, Jan. 2. Each child may bring one toy. ESN The political pot was boil-ing at Valley View last .Mon-day. A rally was held at which ' candidates running for office gave campaign addresses and skits before the entire stude-nt- body. |
