Show Rain and Snow Is Near Record for Five-Day Period A near record five-day soaking soak-ing rain and snow storm doused the Pleasant Grove area with almost two inches of pure water during the seven-day weather period, ending at 6 p.m. Monday, Mon-day, March 11. The storm began Wednesday, March 6 with a trace and ended end-ed Sunday, March 10, with another trace. During in between be-tween three-day interval the downpour scarcely stopped at all. Rain and snow fell intermittently. inter-mittently. When the clouds finally rolled roll-ed away, Monday morning, old Mt. Timpanogos was a spectacle spec-tacle to behold. Cliffs and ledges ledg-es were covered with a white blanket that looked deeper than any time during the current winter and early spring season Unlike most March storms this one was unattended by north winds during the three day downpour. However, the clear up on Sunday was accompanied accom-panied by a chilly wind and a few flakes of flying snow. Despite the storm, spring is on the way. Even the weather man can't fool the birds. A pair of robins were picking berries from this reporter's pyrocantha bushes, . when the storm was at its height. Skies were clear early last Tuesday morning. The outside temperature was 30 dgreees. The barometer stood at 30.20 and was falling slightly. A light storm is headed this way from California," said the forecasters. Statistics for the week, ending end-ing at 6 p.m Monday, March 1, 1968.
