Show Rear Collisions Caused by Locking of Wheels Lack of proper understanding of a certain situation causes many rear-end rear-end collisions. The driver applies the brakes, starts to slide and discovers that be cannot steer to the right or left so as to avoid striking the cur ahead. If he could stand out on the street and watch his car during this process he would see that the Inability to steer Is due merely to. the fact that, the front wheels have locked.
