W and Winnifred Jane Stevenson Evans He was married to Vera Smedley on June 23 1934 in Weiser Idaho The marriage marriage marriage mar mar- was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple HE WAS a farmer and formerly formerly formerly form form- erly worked for the Forest Service Elected chairman of the Commission Commission Com Com- mission in January of 1969 i t he formerly served on the three-man three commission for J three years HE WAS first appointed in i 1965 to complete the last two years of a commissioners commissioner's term and then was elected to year a year two term y While at Davis High School he served as senior class president in 1928 and was an outstanding athlete and winner winner win wm- ner of the Barnes Athletic Award He attended Utah State University and was a member of Phi Kappa Fra Fra- MR EVANS was a member of the Layton Second l Ward where he had been active active active ac ac- ac- ac tive in various church ties He was a charter member of the Davis County Soil Conservation Conservation Conservation Con Con- District and a member member member mem mem- ber of the board of directors He had served as an officer in the Davis County Farm HE IS survived by his widow one son and two daughters Paul Smedley Evans Layton Mrs James Jayne Layton Layton and Mrs Samuel Nancy Provo Prove five grandchildren and two brothers Winslow W.
