E who is studying at Harvard University Matt in London studying Lisa at the University University University Uni Uni- of Utah and two boys Harris and David at home Tibby is a vivacious person who is constantly on the go She is on the general board of the Young oung Ladies Mutual Improvement Assoc of the Church and on the Board of Directors of the Lion House She is president president president dent of the Chi Omega Mothers Club She is always w lIing to help some one inne in ne need d. d THE RECIPES that Tibby is sharing are some of oC her family favorites The first one is a recipe for a summer summer summer sum sum- mer drink that her son L. L E E. Ef brought home from New England 1 Ifa cups sugar cup water 8 or 10 sprigs of mint 5 lemons juiced ginger ale Bring to a boil a cup and half of sugar with three quarters of a cup of water As you take it off the fire add 8 or 10 sprigs of mint When it cools add the juice 5 lemons and chill When ready to serve strain fill filla a glass with crushed ice pour in enough of the chilled mixture to fill it a quarter full and then fill to the top with ginger ale Add a sprig of mint and serve THIS NEXT recipe is one that Tibby's sister-in-law sister from Kentucky gave to her v Fluff Pudding 4 Y A Ah h r JANES JANE'S COFFEE CAKE 1 cup sweet milk fa cup sugar gar 1 legg egg 2 tsp baking powder 3 heaping tbs butter fa tsp salt about 2 cups flour Cream sugar and butter Add egg and milk and ana mix well Combine baking powder salt and flour Add to make a stiff batter Top with sugar cinnamon and bits of butter Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes in degrees oven Serve warm THIS TillS IS A hurry up recipe TIBBY'S HOMEMADE SOUP 1 can beef bouillon 1 l quart tomato juice potatoes and carrots Rice or grate potatoes and carrots and cook together in salted water Drain and add to the bouillon and tomato juice Heat together Delicious and low calorie THIS COOKIE recipe is a family favorite OATMEAL COOKIES fa z package seeded raisins 2 cups sugar 1 cup shortening 2 cups oatmeal 4 eggs 4 cups flour 1 cup milk 2 tsp soda l 8 tsp salt 1 small package chocolate chips 1 tsp vanilla Cover raisins with water and cook 15 minutes Take fa V cup of water off raisins and cool Put shortening in raisins and add sugar let cool a little Add oatmeal eggs and milk Add salt and flour and mix well Put Put soda in fa cup reserved raisin juice and add to batter Add the chocolate chips Bake at degrees for 12 minutes TIBBY SAYS that this is isher isher isher her childrens children's favorite dessert and is light and refreshing after a heavy meal SNOW PUDDING 1 package gelatin fa cup cold water 1 cup boiling water speck salt 4 3 cups sugar 1 tsp lemon rind Vi 44 cup lemon juice 2 egg whites Soak the gelatin in cold coldwater coldwater coldwater water add boiling water Stir until Add everything but eggs egg whites cool Whip egg whites until stiffly beaten Add to mixture and chill Serve with custard sauce CUSTARD SAUCE 2 tbs sugar 2 egg yolks 1 cup milk scalded Vs e tsp salt fa tsp vanilla Beat egg yolks and combine combine combine com com- bine with salt and sugar gradually in sc se gradually stir in scalded milk Cook in double boiler over hot water until mixture coats spoon stirring constant constant- ly Remove from heat add vanilla Chill THIS RECIPE for ice cream was Tibby's mothers mother's and has been used at family gatherings for years MOTHERS MOTHER'S MAPLE I ICE CE CREAM 1 rounded tb flour 1 envelope gelatin Two-thirds Two bottle maple syrup syrup syrup syr syr- up 1 pt 8 oz size 1 g Ifa pints whipping cream Milk l to fill 1 pint scalded milk Soften gelatin with a little cold milk add flour Add to scalded milk Cool and add syrup and whipping cream Put in freezer and add cold milk to desired level Freeze Id ld |
