Show S PARK CITY AREA st&ZZ CHAMBER OF COMMERCECONVENTION AND VISITORS DUREAU coolers and completion awards, to be distributed amongst the many teams. Double thanks to Pepsi-cola, Prospector Square, and KRSP who have supported both of our July 10th events. Here's hoping for a great turn-out to cheer our competitors compe-titors on. For more information, contact the ChamberBureau Events Clearinghouse, 6-49-6100. Thanks to these new ChamberBureau Cham-berBureau Members who have paid their 1982 dues over the last weeks: Aid Associates of Park City, Inc., Associated Title Co., Prospector Pros-pector Land Associates, Sharon Fleck Secretarial Services, Sweetwater Condo-share, Condo-share, and the Travel House. Park City's 1982 Fourth of July Celebration is no easy act to follow. Never have there been so many spectators specta-tors along the parade route, and participation levels from in and around the Park City community were way up. It was a grand celebration -hats off to the Park City Men's Coalition. This Saturday, July 10, is another landmark event day for Park City. Between the Fifth Annual Park City Ride and Tie, and a Pepsi Challenge 10,000 Meter Race, the town will make headlines once again. The Park City Ride & Tie will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m., high up on Bonanza Flat (follow the Hwy 224 signs up Guardsman's Pass). The course this year is 33.7 miles-no easy task for the thirty-five teams expected to compete. The finish area will be located at the Park City Ski Area, in the vicinity of the First Time Chairlift. Contestants will begin crossing cross-ing the finish line around noon. Teams from Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and California will participate in this year's race. In fact, the Park City Ride and Tie has become so well know that it has been chosen as the site for the Levi Nationals, in July, 1984. The Nationals typically bring in an excess of 150 Ride and Tie Teams, and media coverage for Park City, in the summer, would be a great boon for business. Meanwhile, the Pepsi Challenge Chal-lenge 10,000 Meter Race will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday on the Deer Valley Loop Road, at SnowPark. Participants Partici-pants may register on race day for $7.00. Registration includes a t-shirt and subscription sub-scription to Running Magazine. Maga-zine. Both events will conclude with a bar-be-que and celebration at the Ride and Tie Finish Area, from noon -4 p.m. This year's bar be-que be-que is sponsored by the League of Women Voters. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are available at the ChamberBureau office for $4.00. Many thanks go out to sponsors of the Fifth Annual Park City Ride & Tie, including American Airlines, Miller Brands, Pepsi-Cola, Eager & Co. Realty and Prospector Square. Because of their continued support the Ride & Tie will offer a grand prize of two round trip tickets to London on Ameri- can ' Airlines,- over $2 i000 -dollars mcas,h',i)rrzeji;,;rielt bucRtes' hOrsV foltfhWts!'' |
