Show EDITORIAL In the wake of one of the most acclaimed Fourth of July celebrations in recent years all of Park City should show its gratitude for the sponsors, participants and all those who helped make the day so memorable. The Park City Men's Coalition who organized much of the day and particularly the parade deserve a round of applause as should all those who put together a parade entry. We appreciate St. Mary's Church for taking the responsibility of the chuck wagon breakfast. Wayne Putman, of course, gets a special thanks for the dynamite salute despite the early hour and for his high and reliable level of community spiritedness. Although they lost, the Muckers are to be congratulated for their fine rugby match against the Dead Goat. Next year however, we urge everyone to pick up their trash and properly dispose of it and not scatter it with reckless abandon over Main St., City Park and the golf course. Last, but certainly not least, out city fathers and mothers are heartily congratulated for setting Park City above and apart from the rest of the state by their decision to celebrate the Fourth on the fourth. We enjoyed lovely weather while those communities that celebrated on the fifth tolerated freezing rsain. Also our City Council has to be thanked for the fireworks which we feel are the best in the state. Their committment to quality aerial displays of pyrotechnics is a credit to our community. |
