Show DWR Notes Bighorn Transplant A Success Eight more desert bighorn sheep were recently transplanted trans-planted from east of the Colorado River to the Kai-parowits Kai-parowits Plateau area near Lake Powell. The six ewes and two rams were released in good condition. Last November, 12 desert bighorn sheep were transplanted trans-planted into the same area. Several sheep have been radio-collared, and their movements are being monitored moni-tored by Division biologists. No problems have been observed among any of the desert bighorn sheep. Range Rides The public is invited to participate in the Divison of Wildlife's annual spring range horseback rides. The rides are already underway in some regions. Interested persons should contact a regional office for a schedule. sche-dule. The purpose of the range rides is to examine the condition of the range after use by big game animals over the winter. |
