This is the Place: Utah, by Martine Whipple. Published in 1945, this is a simple history and description by the author of The Giant Joshua. It includes some material on Park City. Utah, by J. The Park City Public Library has begun building a special collection of rare and hard-to-find books, pamphlets pam-phlets and articles dealing with the histories of Utah and Park City. Librarian Judy MacMahon has purchased 25 individual publications to inaugurate the special collection and more are to follow as they become available. The collection was made possible by a recent generous donation dona-tion from the Park City Women. Upon receiving the donation. Park City Library Board Members decided to earmark the funds for rare histroic materials. The early history of Utah's Episcopal Church was published pub-lished in 1906. It covers other western states as well. The Study of a Redevelopment Redevelop-ment Program: Its Political and Economic Effect on Park City, Utah, by Cont L. Jones The Historical Guide to Utah Ghost Towns, by Stephen L. Carr. History of Utah, The Works of Hubert Howe Bancroft - Bancroff s history is the definitive early history of Utah. It was published in 1889. The Catholic Church In Utah 1776-1909, by The Very Reverend W. R. Harris and Bishop Seanlan - This book (published 1909) is a review of the Spanish and missionary mission-ary explorations. It includes the journal of the Franciscan explorers. It has a map and illustrations of the early Great Basin. V Utah's Mining Industry: An Historical Operational and Economic Review of Utah's Mining Industry by Utah Mining Association, The Gentile Comes to Utah: A Study in Religious and - Social Conflict (1862-1890) By Robert Joseph Dwyer'- a dissertation published in 1941, this work is definitive of the assimilation of Gentiles Gen-tiles into a Mormon society. Contributions to Economic Geology, 1902, By S. F. Emmons and C. W. Hayes and Contributions to Economic Eco-nomic Geology 1903 By S. F. Emmons and C. W. Hayes -Descriptions of mining in Park City, both of these monographs have lovely maps and some history of the area.
