Show Pork West Ice Rink Scene of Hockey Match Two teams representing the Salt Lake Amateur Hockey Hock-ey League played a match Saturday, at the new icerink at Park West. The two teams, which are in the pee-wee league, consisting con-sisting of 11 and 12 year olds, were the "Kings" and the 'Green Machine". Dick Haggin, coach of the "Kings" reffed the match. - Joe Rogers, head of the Salt Lake Amateur Hockey Hock-ey League was also on hand. Mr. Rogers who played pro-hockey pro-hockey for 22 years and was instrumental in developing Western Hockey, explained t the program. The league itself is composed com-posed of 48 teams. The 48 teams are divided into sub leagues according to age. The Mite league includes those players age 6, 7, 8; the Squirt league, ages 9-10; the PeeWee league, ages 11-12; the Banton league ages 13-14; the Midget league, ages 15-16 and the Junior league, ages 17 and above. Mr. Rogers expressed an interest in the Park West facility as a possible site for more league matches. He also indicated an interest in forming a league in Park City. Park West'is also interested inter-ested in seeing their ice facility fac-ility used to the fullest. According to Park West's director of guest activities, Bill Thompson, Park West is trying to organize a competitive com-petitive hockey league among the various businesses in the Park City area. "We feel that there is an interest and a need for a hockey league in Park City ," states Thompson. Thomp-son. "We have a great facility out here and really want to see it used."
