Show them I saw the values and standards that had evolved that charming town. In keeping these assets, I can agree with the thoughts in a national article on Park City that a primary need at this point would be coopertive, level-headed, and harmonious leadership differing view-points are amicably considered; con-sidered; a non-political exchange which can so effectively provide that key to the high place Park City deserves as a ski center, year-round resort, and a place to call home. Willard Natchitoches, Louisiana impressed with our progress Dear Editor: As an out-of-state reader of the Park Record, I have been impressed with the effort to retain the charm of this old American town, which at the same time can do so much for the new economy of the area ... and the two go together. It is said that there is no such thing as standing still. A town deteriorates or it looks ahead in order to progress, or even to keep the status quo. The future fast becomes the present. The difference between Park City of my first visit and the last one, over only a few years, was impressive indeed. You are to be congratulated. Main Street and other points, the ski areas, the fabulous beauty of the mountains in the changing seasons are beginning to be rediscovered. But the greatest attraction to me was the neighbors and business people, teachers and the helpful local officials I encountered. encounter-ed. Families from original settlers, set-tlers, one-generation residents, to those who came for the Arts and Crafts weekend, and others who had lately chosen to live there. In |
