Show Art 6uild To Host Festival Preview At KAC August 2 byNanChalat The Kimball Art Guild and the Tenth Annual Park City Arts Festival cordially invite you to attend a Gala Arts Festival Preview and Auction to benefit the Kimball Art Center Thursday, August 2 So reads the elegant invitation which was sent to more than 300 patrons of the arts. The auction promises to be a special event, the first of its kind in Park City's history. The Preview and Silent Auction begin at 6:00pm. The Grand Auction will begin after the buffet supper and will be conducted by Don Kennedy, Premier Auctioneer in all the World. Kennedy earns his title by virtue of the fact that he has presided over the most important architectural auctions auc-tions in the country. His prowess as an auctioneer has been reviewed in Time and Fortune magazines. His presence pre-sence and the extraordinary quality of the art work that will be sold will make August 2 a memorable evening and hopefully will set a precedent for a second decade of Arts Festivals in Park City. The 170 artists who were chosen by this year's jury have been asked to donate one piece of work to the auction. Several local artists have designed a special piece for this event. The-original The-original art work for the Park City Summer Calendar, a huge painting by Robert Barrett, will be auctioned by Kennedy toward the end of the Grand Auction. In tails and a white tie, Kennedy breeds a rare kind of refined excitement. Tickets are $20.00 each and may be obtained at the Kimball Art Center or from Abbey Whitney. Only advance ad-vance reservations will be accepted. |
