Show LETTERS Another Raise! Dear Editor: I was among the many concerned parents and teachers at the September School Board meeting. We were told by both the Superintendent and School Board members that there was only "$500 of fat in the budget." This was something we could all understand and accept as a constraint. After we were "dismissed", "dismiss-ed", according to the Park Record, the School Board then voted a ten per cent pay increase to the Superintendent Superintend-ent and the principals and also approved the purchase of an electric piano. The concerns expressed by both the parents and teachers are apparently not going to be investigated or resolved. The real problem, as I see -it, lies in poor communications communica-tions between the School Board and the parents and teachers. I strongly feel that the followingaction should be taken to improve communications: commun-ications: (1) A published school district dis-trict budget. (2) An unbiased reporter present at all school board meetings. (3) A more positive attitude at-titude toward problem solving solv-ing taken by theSchool Board members. All of us are interested in providing the best education educa-tion for our children, and by working TOGETHER and communicating this is possible. pos-sible. Sincerely, Paula Lewis |
