By Laurie Tisch "Most ski schools teach you how to ski downhill, we'll teach you to ski uphill" up-hill" is the motto of Jim Miller and Steve Ericksen, operators of the appropriately appropri-ately named Uphill Company. Jim and Steve, both avid and certified cross country instructors, came to Marsac school last Friday to introduce intro-duce their program. John Elwell hopes to expand ex-pand Marsac's highly popular popu-lar Alpine' ski program to include crosscountry skiing. Jini and Steve feel that cross country skiing is an inexpensive and exhilarating sport everyone can enjoy. They have offered to run a free clinic and technique at 10 a.m. All necessary equipment session which they encourage encour-age the entire community to attend. Their program will begin with a movie on Monday, November 25 at the Memorial Mem-orial Building. On Friday at 7:30 p.m. they will hold a free equipment check and discussion, followed by a skiing clinic at the city park on Saturday, November 30 will be available for rent. During the year Jim and Steve will operate their newly formed touring school out of the Park West Resort. . They , wil offer" cross country lessons, day tours, and overnight tours in the Uinta Range. These tours can be set up at Saturdays community program pro-gram or by contacting Jim or Steve at Park West. |
