Show Proposal Would Change Downtown Traffic Flow Pattern j A new proposal changing the traffic flow in the downtown down-town area will come under discussion at the City Council Coun-cil this Thursday. The new traffic plan was drawn up by City Manager Wayne Mathews with the help of Marshal Merril Street. The re-routing of traffic flows was originally suggested sug-gested by the Park City Master Plan to alleviate congestion, con-gestion, provide more parking park-ing and make snow removal easier. The plan is essentially a network of one way streets. It focusses on Main Street, Swede Alley, Park Avenue and the smaller streets which connect the three major ma-jor thoroughfares. Main Street would be made one way goingup (south) from Heber Avenue to 2nd Street. It would be two way from 2nd Street to the turn around. Parking on Main Street would be changed from parallel to angle and would be restricted to the West , side only. This would make the task of snow removal much easier without sacrificing sacri-ficing any parking spaces. Park Avenue would be made one way going down (north) from the Heber Avenue Ave-nue intersection on up. There would be no change in parking procedures. The , side streets connecting Park Avenue with Main Street from Heber Avenue on up would be made one way going down (east) with a right turn -. only at Main. I Swede Alley would be made i one way going down (north). i The side streets connecting with Main Street would be one way going (east) with a I left turn only off Main into - 1 the Swede Alley parking I area. 1 Park City officials are unanimous in agreeing with the necessity of the new program pro-gram and are confident that ' it will solve many of the traffic and .snow removal j,i t,i.i..;t.s "..'li.cli Lev teoct the Cay.
