Show City Council Thanks Mrs. Hansen; Plans Proceed at New City Park Sept. 2, 1971 Mayor Sullivan presided over this meeting. Councilmen answering ans-wering to roll call were: Arthur Durante, Clements Hansen, George Gasparac and Richard Martinez. Supervisor Georgio and Marshal were also present. Councilman Burns and Attorney Turner were excused. Councilman Council-man Burns was workingandAt-torney workingandAt-torney Turner was excused because be-cause of the illness of his wife. Minutes of the previous meeting meet-ing were read and approved. The bids from the State for the purchase of gas were read. The City will purchase gas from Chevron Oil Co. for the fiscal year 1971, 1972. The Mayor and Council take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Katheryn Hansen for her time spent in decorati.ig the Library window each season. The Lib-.rary Lib-.rary window .has become a shov . place and in behalf of ail the citizens of Park City Mayor Sullivan says, "Thanks!" License was approved for Bruno Szawolkowski to open a glass blowing shop. The shop will be in the Uriarte Building at 356 Main Street. An application from Attorney O. Robert Meredith was approved. ap-proved. Mr. Meredith will be in the office at the Anderson Bldg. on Main Street. - The City Council makes note that any business that is moved from one location to another must make a new application for a license. The Library report for August Aug-ust reads as follows: 237 books and 26 magazines were circulated; cir-culated; 4 used reference books; there were 237 visitors; $1.42 was collected in fines and the Library was open 26 days in August. Justice McNaughtan submitted submit-ted the following report for August; Seventeen cases were heard: One driving on the football foot-ball field, 5 speeding, 1 parking in a no parking zone, 1 parking in front of fire hydrant, 2 indecent in-decent exposure, 2 expired vehicle safety stickers, 1 false identification, 2 exhibition driving, driv-ing, 2 petty larcency, There was $320.50 collected in fines. Councilman Gaspaiac reported re-ported on the progress on the building needed at the park. - He asked the. council for approval ap-proval to use the roofing from the pavilion at the old park to cover the new pavilion. The Council agreed because the old one will be torn down anyway. The grills will also be utilized, and the tables. The new Park facilities will be ready for use next summer. (Continued on Page Five) City Council (Continued from Page One) Councilman. Gasparac recommended rec-ommended a set of rules be set up for the use of the park and facilities. The council agreed this should be done. MayorSul-livan MayorSul-livan asked that the Park Committee Com-mittee set up some recommendations recommend-ations for council approval. The Council instructed the Marshal and the Supervisor to' see that all contractors doing work in Park City are registered register-ed and that any work done where roads or streets are dug up must be repaired and approved by the supervisor, otherwise citations will be issued to those failing to repair streets. The Council gave Marshal McAlevy permission to put no parking signs on King Road. The parking has been bad all summer and must be eliminated before snow comes. Mayor Sullivan reported he and the Marshal had met with a representative of the Region Four Law Enforcement Agency and were instructed how and where to make applications for Federal and State aid in securing secur-ing new High Ban Radios for the Police Department and the Ambulance. Am-bulance. Applications will be precessed after the funds are made available in 1972. The bills were presented and ordered paid.
