play presented last night was a tremendous success both dramatically and financially miss ballard and her class are to be congratulated some of the seniors and juniors are becoming to feel so well to yield first place to the freshmen boys the seniors had only tw two a failures last term and this term they had five eve the students in miss ballards seventh hour study period have arrived at the of the most thoroughly enjoyed days at the park paris city high school this year all day visitors were pouring into the school to observe the work of the students A large number of these visitors were membris of the park city alumni they greeted their old friends with stories ot of days that used to be nearly every sentence was begun with do you remember old pranks were remembered old love affairs were brought up and old friendships friendship were revived the program in the afternoon was the next event of alumni day it was a splendid program every number was performed by an alumnus george hartwell violin solo john pike presentation of the alumni george earben barben yells ray wilson the pictures old year books and school papers posted in the center hall were a source of great interest there was always a large group of people around picking out old classmates and star athletes fraser buck was especially good at telling who mho was who and why 11 there was a game between two girls teams at six thirty the greatest thing this game did was to clean up the floor the game between the athletic club and ithe I 1 tha high school was rather slow also ethere I 1 there was an immense crowd present ard ald this was the main idea of alumni day to bring old graduates together the purpose of the game was accomplished the crowning event of the hilarious day was the senior hop dreamy waltzes gay fox trots lovely girls debonair boys and a happy friendliness made the dance a big success who tor for bigger and better alumni days MAWHINNEY 32 s 0 o IN AND AROUND TIM THE the band played several numbers at the parent teachers washington program last wednesday night the selections ren dered weri were Arop acropolis olig march anchors dweight national emblem stars and stripes forever american patrol and the star spangled banner they were all received with enthusiasm by the audience the band also made a spectacular per Ifor marice at the basketball game last iwas friday night the scheme of marching was somewhat different by way of a change the entire band entered at the beginning and at the halt half the organization 1 was divided into two divisions or it t tv A oc 0 separate bands the first baud band assembled on the floor and made a circle at one end and was led by the drum major this played the march minstrel man alan the booster girls then formed a small circle in the center while the other band was forming their circle at the other end of the hall mr jones led t this part and the march our director was given after a performance by the girls and a little yelling the two bands joined into one forming a square that practically covered the floor space and park high dear old park high and queen city were the marches played the crowd seemed very proud of the band and we only hope they will continue to do so the boys and girls glee club have haie been having tor for the past week meek not examinations but just little tests to see how they are progressing in their singing A trio has to stand in front of tho the room and sing their respective parts it if you think its tun run try it it neatly neally so easy as a it appears the girls have an advantage over the boys though for their dresses are sufficiently long to cover their shaking and trembling knees while the boys seem to have no protection whatsoever the orchestra played several we hope that lavor has better luck than paul had the world history students have just finished booklets on the lives ot of great men and happenings ot of importance arx from the time ot of alexander the great to the french revolution this was very instructive tive work and some interesting booklets were made the students of american history have put some very handsome covers on their contest
