Show TEAMSTERS PUT butte mont may 2 the teamsters employed atthe at the mariona lumber yards in butte amounting to fifty men and twenty five the coal dealers of the city went out yesterday morning because their employers refused their demands for an eight hour day at the present rate of 3 about twenty men who arc employed as finishers in alie lumber yards also quit work for the same reason demanding 5 for an eight hour day instead of ten hours as at present many of the finishers who are also carpenters are finding employment throughout the city in no other quarter of the city is there any sign of trouble or unrest you can tell the people that there is no occasion for the slightest alarm from the present labor situation in the city these are the words of president dan mcdonald of the western labor union who returned to the city tins morning abile I 1 have not been back long enough to know the situation just aa it stands between the employers and the teamsters I 1 assure you that no flatter what the outcome there will be no trouble that can in any way affect the business industry of the city still the fact remains that the teamsters have quit and they give no elj dence of continuing unless satisfactory settlement is made |
