Show WHAT A FORMER DEMOCRAT SAYS S A kenner once a stalwart in the democratic ranks and a leader ot the party in the state has sickened of democracy to such an extent that in the last issue of his paper the great campaign he has this to say of the republican ticket nominated in philadelphia one of the men has shown that he is fit to be president when the nation is racked with turbulent demonstrations without and within amid the smoke and flaade of battle the din of conflict the deep throated bellowing of the demon of war the trembling of friends and the treachery of foes or amid the calm and quiet and peace and prosperity which all americans covet and enjoy the other has demonstrated that he is equal to anything the people require of him whether it be dealing with the democratic augean stables of new york city rounding up the wild men of the plains sitting amid the nations councillors councilors counci lors at the head of a roughshod rough shod regiment of fight ers on foreign boil or with match lean edill and tireless energy the executive affairs of a great commonwealth we were sure of roosevelt we hoped tor we have hem both they will be elected triumphantly and with their election treason rebellion debased finance paternalism wildcat scheming and disregard of organic law will once more betake themselves to their caves of darkness there let us hope to remain now let us of utah swing into line and put our state where it honestly belongs in the republican column |
