Show - , MILK INSPECTION . ts the milk sold to the people of Bingham Canyon pure milk? Is the ' milk, being given our younger generation fit for consumption? Is the milk -brought into Bingham Canyon, milk that will pass rigid inspection? Should milk that will not stand up under inspection be allowed to gain access into the homes of the people of the camp? Perhaps we shall get into trouble again, but an enemy more or less won't make or break us. It has come to the attention of the writer that milk of an inferior quality is being served in the camp, and before we go further J , it might be well to state that we saw the milk with our own eyes, and thus . are not writing this for the benefit of any one dairy, but for the general good health of the community. ' The bottle of milk shown us, was so full of sediment that we could hardly believe our eyes. Not being a chemist or an inspector we failed to find out what the sediment really was, but being in a free country we are entitled to a guess, and our guess is that it was dirt, During the early summer an ordinance was passed pertaining to meats . and dairy products, and if our memory does not fail us, there are many stipulations in the ordinance which are being violated daily if such milk as we cast our eyes upon is allowed to find its way into the homes of the camp. Bingham Canyon has enough grief and sickness, owing to its geographical geograph-ical location, to keep the doctors busy without allowing contaminated milk to add to the misery of our people. Something sl.ould be done, and done quickly, ere the impure milk gets a fcothold, and causes an epidemic. Are the dairies delivering milk into Bingham Canyon inspected? Do the dairies supplying milk in Bingham Canyon use care in the washing of empty bottles? 1 a rigid rule of cleanliness enforced by the dairies bringing milk into Bingham Canyon? Protect the children and babies of Bingham Canyon by refusing to accept ac-cept milk that has a sediment in the bottom of a bottle. Tip the bottle up-side up-side down, and be sure that you don't see disease lurking in the bottom of the bottle in the form of filthiness. |
