Just one j minute before eight o'clock this I ! morning the large crowd of people who had gotten up early and Journeyed Journey-ed down to the new Rio Grande Western Pacific passenger station j saw a Kcreamlng locomotive deeorat- I ed with flags and bunting and banners ban-ners poke its nose around the curve and swing Into the depot Behind were shining new passenger coaches and sleepers, all gayly decorated It was the first regular pasKeuger trjvln over the ne Western Pacific, and she was Just one minute ahead of time Not a mishap had occurred on tho long pull from the Pacific toast. Every schedule stopped had been made on the dot. There were over 100 passengers on the new train and they expressed themselves very favorably regarding the Bervlce they had met with on thn trip. The sleepers were well filled with traelers going east. The bcepery on the new route was also praised by the passengers. Tho opposite op-posite train on the way to San Francisco Fran-cisco that was duo there this morning morn-ing h&4 also had a perfect trip and was running right on time at an early hour this morning. |
