That the pcdlgre-e dog business in the United States In controlled by a trust is the , allegation made in two actions filed In , the United States court here yester day. The American Kennel club Is being sued for l.Rno damages under the Sherman anti-trust act, and a complaint has been filed asking the federal oflieers to prosecute the club ou a charge of restraint of trade. Tho suits are brought In the nacio of W. E. Chute, a dog-brced-r, who recently judged a show uuder the auspices of the National Dog Breeders' association associa-tion and was thereupon disqualified from using the stud book of the American Am-erican Kennel club. Among the officers of tho club for whom warrants are askod are August Belmont, William G. Rockefeller. Jr. a nephew of the oil magnate, Howard How-ard Wlllets. II. K. Ble.odgood, J. W. Appleton, Edward Brooks. Chetwood Smith and John H. Do Mund, all of ; New York. |
