Secretary James Wilson, spent most of this forenoon at the forest sen Ice offices, personally meeting the employes em-ployes and making a general inspection inspec-tion of the quarters and the work done at. the desks. When the secretary secre-tary was here last August the department de-partment had not moved into the new bulldlnj. which It now occupies, the department then being stationed on the upper floor of the First National bank building. Mr. Wilson was delighted with the new quarters, not h?-itating to say they are as commodious and modern as any he has visited during bi.s trip The secretary vas accompanied by his son. Jasper, on the visit to the forestry headquarters and both stated that they were much pleasod with conditions there. Jasper Wilson states that ho and his father have enjoyed the Ogden visit and that they are more than pleased with the manner in which the office and field work of this district are conducted. Senator Smoot Joined Secretary Wilson at noon and spent the afternoon after-noon with him at the Rood hotel. The senator will accompany Secretary "Wilson as far as Provo this evening, and the party will leave over the Rio Grande at C o'clock. The secretary's next stop will be at Colorado Springs, from which point he will go to Denver, whore he will spend a few days with the foresters of that district. |
