Show HEAYY DAMAGES FOR WAITS DEATH New York, Dec. 10. Announcement Is made here that the New York Central Cen-tral railroad has settled out of court with the estate of Spencer Trask, the New York banker, fr the damages resulting from his death in a railroad rail-road accident near Croton, N. Y., a year ago. The amount which the railroad will pay is $00,000. The sum Is one of the largest settlements ever made in a case of this kind. The accident In which Trask was killed occurred on the morning before be-fore New Year's day, 1910. He was in tho rear car of the Montreal Express, Ex-press, which got the brunt of the collision col-lision when a fast freight tore Into the express. He was Instantly killed. Mr Trask had financed some of the biggest Industrial enterprises In the country and had supplied money for the construction of many electric rallwaja. He was widely known for his benefactions. |
