President Hrownlng staled that he considered it ' the duty of the council to have the provisions inspector make a repoit to the council regarding the woik h is doing that the council might know whether he Is earning his salary, ! whereupon Dr. Dickson stated that Mr. Iloyt is doing ail any man could ' do In the position and that more help ' is needed in the health department at . this time. The doctor slated that : contagious diseases prevail extensive- J ly at this time of the year and that an extia effort should be put forth to eradicate scarbn fever and other contagious con-tagious diseases from the city. j Sanitary Inspector Poulter reported that there are i'l eases of scarlet fever fe-ver under quarantine In the city, which is about the simo as are recorded record-ed for last year, at this time The inspector in-spector stated though, that a little help in the office would aid materially material-ly iu keeping track of new cases and in preventing the spread of the disease dis-ease hero from districts outside tho city. He said also that the doelois of the city could aid materially in preventing pre-venting the spread of the contagions of the cltv hv reporting nil the ease3 that come under their care. One case was reported by Mr. Poulter wherein a physician bad permitted scarlet fe- ver to remain in a family 30 days ( without reporting It to the quarantine officers, or advising the parents of lithe li-the tacts in tho case. A new doctor ; was called to the house and ho found j four cases of well defined scarlet ff- . ver, and the fifth case soon made its .
