fllli OF RAILROADS' Western Pacific to Reach Out for Southern California Cali-fornia Trade San Francisco, Oct. 14 Thc steamers steam-ers Harvard ami Vale which, it was announced some t'me ago, are to be taken off the Boston-New York run and sent to the Pacific coast, will be operated, according to the Chronicle, Chron-icle, between San Francisco and I03 Angeles by a combination of Interests In w hich the Western Pacific company com-pany is dominant. Dally sailings are to be made. These steamers, says the Chron-:cle. Chron-:cle. "will furnish the Western Pacific with a connecting line to southern California, from which territory It has hitherto been excluded bv the refusal of both the Southern Pacific and the Santa Fe to enter Into an agreement with the Gould lino for an interchange of traffic." Similar steamers, it Is said, later will be placcn on the run from San Francisco to Portland and Pugot sound cities.
