The size of the vote against us in times past should not daunt us. "Our attention as Democrats has not been altogether directed of late to the rank and file of the opposition and with what munificent results Ihe two brilliant and able United States senators and a majority of our congressmen con-gressmen have Toted In congress against n furtherance of the burden of tariff taxes on the many and have In tho face of Ihe threatened political politi-cal ostracism defended with power the justice and rlehtenusness of their votes and conduct. "With such distinguished advoeotea c tiio cause which we have for years pleadPd in vain In old Iowa, have we not valid reason for believing that our peop'io will yet be brought to a realization of their political mistakes and help bring about the reforms we so earnestly desire?
