Show DRUNKS IN THE POLICE COURT In the criminal' division of Ihe municipal mu-nicipal court this morning, there was a dearth of business. The offending public Is evidently taking a vacation Henry and Earl Billlcks were arraigned ar-raigned on the charge of having been "unlawfully drunk." They pleaded guilty and were sentenced to pay fines of $5 each or serve live days in the city bastile at bard labor. Charles Otto came up before tho judge sblvpring with cold, his clothes still wet from the night bath In the Weber river. He was charced with drunkenness. He at first did not seem io understand the meaning of the com plaint, being a Swede lately from tho old country, but, after a little explanation, expla-nation, he said that he was drunk yesterday and last night. The court sentenced him to pay a flno of 55 or serve five days In the city Jill at bard labor. The names of Nr. Nokley and Robt Lawlher were called by the clerk, they being charged with disturbing the peace. There was uo response, the men" not being present. The ball of Lawther In the sum of $10 was forfeited, and the officers were Instructed In-structed to find Nokley and bring him forward. |
