The Wrights' protest, U is reported. Is based on the faci that Drexel's flight was not mdc In the sight of proper officials of the Aero Club of 1 America. Clifford n. Harmon, chairman chair-man of the national council of the Aero Club of America, and James King Duffy, secretary of the council, who were present when Mr. Drexel made his ascension from Point Breeze, declare de-clare that the record will be accepted as official. The barograph carried by Drexel's monoplane was tested previous to the flight and it is declared that no question ques-tion of its accuracy can be raised. 'The lines on Ihe chart," said Mr. Harmon, "make- it fair to presume that I Mr. Drexel went up 10,000 feet, but tho barograph only recorded 9,970 feet, and It is idle to give any figures." j |
